Find Your Why And Know Your Where

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Aaron Kirk

First off, if you want to become successful at anything in life you have to have a why. What on earth is a why, you say? Well lucky for you I am just about to let you know what a why is because without one, your probably not going to make it very far!

Your WHY is the reason why you want to be successful. The reason why you start a business. “I want to make money you dummy!” That’s probably what your thinking to yourself right now, right? Well that’s not good enough! That’s right your going to have to do a lot better than that. Everyone wants to make money and as you can see, not everybody is successful with their money making ventures. That’s just not specific enough. You have to have a compelling reason that’s pushing you forward with a force so great that it will push you right through the walls in your path and right over the obstacles in your way.

What is your why? I can not tell you what your why is, only you can figure that out for you. I know my why. I know what keeps me going when things get tough, when I want to quit and when I have just made a big whopper of a mistake that costs me. Now you are going to have to dig down deep inside yourself and figure out your why.

Some people’s why will be very easy for them to figure out. They want to make enough money to pay for their kids a good education or they want to buy a motor home and travel the country with their wife to rekindle the flames that have started to die down. Or maybe the situation is more dire, maybe they need money to pay for the health care of a relative with a serious illness. I hope your why is not a serious illness. I’m just trying to give you some strong examples here.

These are all very specific reasons to be motivated. You can also estimate pretty closely the amount of money you will need to make to handle these specific problems or situations.

That brings us to the second step to your success. You need to know WHERE you are going. Have a specific destination in mind. How on earth are you going to get to where you want to go if you don’t know where it is you want to go? When you go on vacation you need a roadmap to get you where to your destination. And you’re going to have to have a financial roadmap (goals) to get you to your financial destination.

Write out your goals and be very specific. If you want to make 10,000 dollars a month write it down and believe with all your heart that its already yours and all you have to do is reach out and take it. The power that is in belief is unstoppable. The trick is you have to really believe it and want it with all your heart.

Now get even more specific. I like to call it stair stepping your goals. When you walk up to a large flight of stairs you don’t try to step from the bottom to the top do you? No, you take it one step at a time. It’s the same thing with your financial journey. Your at the beginning or bottom of the stair case. Your probably not going to leap to the top and make 10,000 dollars over night. Take it one step at a time and don’t get ahead of yourself or you will wind up tripping and falling down the stairs and then you will have to start all over at the bottom again bruised and battered.

Here is an example of how you may start out:

Goal 1. I will be making 2,000 dollars per month in 3 months time.

To help me achieve this I will:

A. use a proven duplicative system that has worked for others

B. write at least 3 articles per week

C. start a Google adwords account

D. advertise in ezines

Goal 2. I will be making 5,000 dollars per month in 6 months time.

To help me achieve this I will:

A. continue with the above steps

B. post to affiliate marketing business forums at least a few times per day

C. start an affiliate marketing business blog

Goal 3. I will be making 10,000 dollars per month in 9 months time.

To help me achieve this I will:

A. continue with the above steps

B. start an article directory on my site

C. add offline marketing techniques to my arsenal

There you have it. A very specific plan to get you from 0 to 10,000 dollars a month in 9 months time. Let me stress this is just an example. We don’t all have the same dreams or financial goals. I just wanted to illustrate the process. It’s up to you to find your WHY and know your WHERE. And then you will have to start from there and fill in the blanks.

Maintaining The Drive For Your Home Business

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Kelly Walker

It is a common misconception that a home business is a more laid back and less complicated than a traditional work environment. Major advantages of a work from home job are that you are the boss, you have more personal time, as well as a more peaceful workspace. Whilst these factors are desirable, at times they can make a home business more work than traditional employment. You are solely responsible for creating the driving force to complete tasks on time and in an efficient manner, to standards that are of the highest quality. Running an online business means that you no longer have someone looking over your shoulder to remind you of your deadlines.

Being your own boss also means that you no longer have someone to take a problem to, or to pick up the slack and cover your workload if things get a bit tough. You are the person in charge of all things business, both good and bad. So how is it that so many home business entrepreneurs are able to motivate themselves, and continue to keep going even on the worst home business days? The answer is Personal drive. When you make the decision to start a work from home business you have to understand that it is up to you to provide personal motivation and drive to continue to progress even when your home business appears to be at a standstill.

When something is not quite right you have to be prepared to search and research your business from inside out. Self motivation is the key to keeping yourself fired up and your home business. The strength of mind to succeed, inspiring speeches from success coaches, the memory of how you felt about working endlessly in a unsatisfactory job, these can all be methods that you can put to use to keep your focus on moving your company forward towards success, as well as the thought of never allowing yourself to see and accept failure as an option. Whilst this appears easy to do on paper, when you look over your sales reports or order forms and see only the minimum customer interest it can be all too easy to become downbeat. All of a sudden nagging doubts can begin to creep in and you begin to wonder if you have placed yourself in over your head and that working from home was a mistake.

Set realistic goals and be positive to stave off immediate failure. Thoroughly review your product on a continual basis. Strive to correct or improve your item. Once you have achieved this move your focus onto marketing and advertising. How can this be rearranged for improvement? Then repeat the process on down the line until you begin to see an improvement in sales. If your progress is still struggling seek help. Search online for tips or read up on home business books. Engage the services of a specialized home business counsellor. Many times a business review from fresh eyes can spot the trouble more rapidly. The key is not to give up without giving it a fair go. Remember that it’s your business, your dream and if you want it to become a reality go for it full throttle.

There will even be times when you will find yourself feeling tired and burnt out at your home business. You may even find that you need some time away. When this happens ensure you take a weekend to enjoy yourself and leave work out of your mind. Provide yourself with some space away from the office to assist you in a revitalizing walk in order to reawaken yourself to your home business. A good break can prepare you to face your business and all of its challenges with a revitalised effort. This can often be a way to find and correct business concerns. Always remember to continue to progress, do not give up and even if the roller coaster ride takes you down into the valley, you will eventually climb back up to success.

Is It Possible To Create An Impossible Business?

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Jonathan Haryanto

Consultants, coaches, and other service professionals often start a business believing that all they need to do is charge a “reasonable” fee and sell “enough” of their time. Consultants hope to get an edge by claiming to be the fastest, best, or most experienced.

Tired superlatives in proposal include: Most, Superior, Best, Maximum, Optimal, Minimum, Fastest, Unsurpassed, Shortest, Unrivaled, Easiest, Highest, Least, Unique, clients routinely ignore such claims as unproven hype.

Nothing is intrinsically wrong with any of the preceding words, and we all use them in spoken and written communication (for example, “This is the fastest way to do that.”) But in proposals, they are suspect, and you should use them sparingly, if at all. It’s easy to think that any business can be successful if you work hard enough, but there are many situations where this just isn’t so. But unless you do the math to prove or disprove your assumptions, you may be creating a business that can never succeed. Here’s what can happen:

*Impossible Business #1 *Nancy was selling her services as an image consultant to individuals who wanted an updated or more professional look. She charged $75 per hour, which she thought was the most anyone would realistically pay to work with her. In most cases, she traveled to a client’s home or went shopping with her client.

Including travel time and lunch meant that Nancy could only make two appointments in one day. The average appointment was two hours long. So the maximum amount Nancy could earn in one day turned out to be $300. But in order to earn that amount five days per week, Nancy would have to schedule ten different clients, all of whose schedules were able to adapt to whatever times she had available.

This was hopelessly unrealistic. Even if Nancy had been able to make the scheduling work, when would she have had the time to do the marketing required to land that many clients? It turned out that the maximum Nancy could really earn using this model was about $750 per week. After paying her taxes, she couldn’t even cover her monthly living expenses

*Impossible Business #2 *Tom is a student who works as a software consultant for midsize company._ _ . He typically charged $80 per hour, and when he landed a contract, it often consisted of 25-100 billable hours.

Because Tom’s earning capacity was so high and he disliked marketing, he spent a lot of money on marketing himself indirectly. He purchased display ads in industry journals and directories, mailed expensive brochures to large lists of prospects, paid to exhibit at trade shows, and hired a telemarketer to prospect for him. Tom also worked on contracts that came through agencies, who often took 25-35% of his earnings as their percentage.

Tom is earning as much as $90,000 per year, but he was losing about $15,000 per year in agency commissions, and spending $25,000 per year on marketing. In return for all his hard work, he was earning considerably less than he had at his last job.

*Making the Impossible Possible *New consultants, coaches, and other professionals almost always overestimate how much they can earn and underestimate the amount of time and money required to successfully market themselves. They also forget that they will have to cover not only their living costs and business expenses, but pay self-employment tax, buy their own health insurance, provide for their own retirement, and allow for unpaid vacation and sick time.

If Nancy or Tom had taken the time to sit down with a calculator before starting out in business, they would have quickly discovered that they were on the wrong track. But both of these businesses were able to be rescued.

Molly began selling her time by the day instead of by the hour. She offered her clients a full-day package that consisted of a wardrobe review and consultation in the morning and a shopping trip in the afternoon. By charging $400 per day and scheduling three clients per week, she could earn more than double than she did previously.

She also began offering a monthly one-day image workshop as a way of bringing in more income while giving prospective clients a chance to experience her work. The workshop became her main source of new clients, and marketing the workshop turned out to be easier than marketing her personal services.

Tom learned how to market himself less expensively through networking, speaking, and writing articles. Instead of buying booths at trade shows, he was showcased there as a presenter, and spent time networking with the other attendees. The same publications where he used to run ads now ran his articles. Rather than paying a telemarketer, he started picking up the lunch tab for people he thought could refer him some business.

As a result, his expenses for marketing and commissions dropped from $35,000 per year to $15,000. At the same time, his income rose to $125,000 per year, because as his visibility and reputation grew, his services were more in demand and he could command higher rates.

If earning a decent living as a self-employed professional sometimes seems impossible to you, start asking how it could be possible. What can you change about how you are marketing yourself, how much you are charging, and how you are packaging your services? While it could be that success will come if you just work a little harder, it’s more likely that you first need to start working a little differently

Don’t Let Credit Card Debt Bury You

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Jefferson Steelflex

If you have credit cards, it’s much too easy to get in over your head. Each small charge can add up into a huge debt. This is especially true if you have more than one card. So, take charge of your credit card debt before it buries you.

You may have had credit cards for a while so are already in trouble. Some people have tens of thousands of dollars charged that they don’t even know what was purchased with it. This is where a good record keeping comes in. Knowing how much charged and what it was for will help you keep a handle on your expenses. Even if it’s only writing it down in a small notebook, it will help you keep the charges down because you can see exactly what you are spending.

It may help to remember that when you are charging something on your credit card, you are taking out a loan. Do you really want to take a loan out on a Big Mac?

Keeping control of credit card charges is one of the most import aspects of personal finance. Of course, the retail stores and credit card companies will tempt you otherwise. You can even charge your groceries at the market these days. If you can’t pay your entire bill at the end of the month, you may already be in trouble.

Here are some guidelines that you should follow in order to use credit responsibly and not ruin your credit rating.

1. Save each and every receipt that you get for every single charge. At least if you keep the receipt, you can look back and see where you spent your money. Yes, a “charge” is money!

2. Don’t let your credit card balance go over an amount that you can pay off within two months. This way, you can still build your credit history and credit rating, but not get in over your head. This is the best example of using a credit card wisely.

3. If you are already deeply in debt, start digging yourself out. Do not charge any more on your cards…no matter what! Only spend what you can buy with your paycheck.

4. You might want to look at balance transfers to try to get the amount you owe reduced. But, be very careful when trying this. Make sure that the interest rate is a lot less than the one you are paying on the credit card you want to replace. And, don’t add any more on it.

5. Also look into taking out a second mortgage on your home. Of course, you don’t want to take out a loan that you cannot make payments on.

6. Do you have any savings? You will probably be better off using your savings to pay off debt then by trying to earn interest with it.

7. Take an honest look at your spending habits. Could you possibly be a credit card addict? If so, get help. Help could come in the form of a good friend that you can enlist to help you with your finances or with a professional personal finance manager. Be sure you choose someone that you trust and that will not get you deeper in debt.

Getting your credit card debt under control should be a major concern for you. A poor credit rating can follow you around for years.

Eliminate the Nightmare of Credit Card Debt. You don’t have to be a credit wizard to sort your finances out. Find out how easy it can be for you right now at… http://FixingPoorCredit.com

Selecting A Top Small Business Opportunity In Malaysia

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Jefferson Steelflex

Many multinational companies are offering distributorship to individuals to market their products in Malaysia.

The best small business ideas are in the field of network marketing where it is inexpensive for you to enter and the rewards are high. An individual can start with any of these companies as low as RM99 and work themselves up to an income of over RM3000 in no time.

You don’t need a lot of money for a head start into network marketing. All you will need is a bit of desire, a small business plan such as goals and a plan of action and a good team to support you.

The opportunities in small business such as a network marketing opportunity are huge. You can earn a few hundreds dollars a week or aim to earn a few thousand a week. It’s an even playing field that allow an average individual to succeed.

You can use a number of ways to market your business and the ideas are many. You may consider doing a part of your network marketing business online as many of the companies offer their distributors a website portal to have a web presence where you can choose to market products on the web.

Some of the best small based business opportunities are to get involved with a company as it opens for business in your country. In Malaysia this opportunity arises daily as it’s quite fashionable for companies to spring up as mushrooms only to die as the competition gets hard.

To make money chose a company that has a proven track history and learn everything about its products, its business plan before you start sharing the benefits with others.

People get attracted to your home based business opportunity looking at your integrity as well as the income the company can give them for their efforts. A network marketing business can provide a handsome profitable income that could turn residual over a period of time as the network of customers increase.

You may do a search for the top network marketing companies if you are considering taking up a part time career in home based business. There are a number of publications on the net that you can do your due diligence from.

The” how to” make money through network marketing is not so important when you are starting out. You must be very clear why you want to get into a secondary income stream. It’s certainly going to be a bit taxing on you as you may have to give up a bit of free time to get this off the ground.

Unlike traditional business you will have to trade time to build this business and must allow 2 to 5 years to build a residual income stream of over RM200, 000 per year. I do realize that there maybe many other ways to earn this type of income. Certainly this is the best way as you build it over time with very little financial risk. There is no stopping the income once it starts flowing in.

Though the entry into a network marketing company maybe rather low it certainly does not mean that your future income is capped. Network companies are considered as high income producing business opportunities these days. It is proven that more millionaires are created by network marketing than any other type of business opportunity.

If you choose the right type of company you will find that the opportunity will outlive you. What a fantastic legacy to leave your children as a gift when you pass on. The interesting thing is that you too enjoyed the income when you were alive.
