Open Question: Average checking account balance?

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

Just curious as to what people keep in their bank accounts usually?? I heard the other day that a HUGE amount of americans live paycheck to paycheck.
I'm looking for adults, not teenagers.
Maybe I should rephrase…
How much of a “cushion” do you usually have between pay periods .

Open Question: Earnings per common share? Someone please HELP!!?

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

OK I have to prepare a multiple-step income statement for an accounting class. One of the problems is figuring out the earnings per common share. I have the first part figured out, which it asks for the income from continuing operations. So to figure it out I used this equation…..
(289,000-100,000)/150,000 which gave me $1.26
Now my problem is that I do not know how to finish it. It asks for the loss on discounted operations which I know is 76,800 but how do I figure it per common share? Also I have an extraordinary item which is 60,000 but again how do I figure that for earnings per common share? Please help me!!
Thanks Jeff but I know how to do that. How do I figure up the parts to add and subtract?

Open Question: Are California HMO's different than PPOs re preexisting conditions?

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

I chose an HMO with my new employer because I can not afford the PPO. Too much time has elapsed since my last coverage to be exempt based on past employer coverage. The website for the PPO has said I would not be covered for 6 months for preexisting conditions, but no mention was made on the HMO website. Do HMO's generally have a 6 month exclusion or are they required to cover you immediately?

Open Question: If a fewone has over 50k cash saved but never put it in the bank but now he wants to so wht's the law?

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

I mean a few banks say they can only take less than 10k deposit one time other wise it will be reported to IRS and the others say if you deposit that much money you'll have to pay taxes to the govt? Is that true even though the money was saved from lawn mowing, paper routes and allowances combined? Are we living in a communist system if this is true?
To thin Abuit: Who has said it wasn't paid tax on it? I just has said it wasn't deposited in the bank for not wanting to pay earned interest on it. Idiot!
Again to Thin Kaboudit: You must be so jealous of me having that much saved up becuz you're a low life, nicotine addict, unemployed, convict or ex-con idiot! Am I right? I know I'm right about you.

Does anyone know about this company called KO Capital? They offer loans to people with bad credit with no credit check. Sounds too good to be true! They make u prepay $100 for every 10 thousand you borrow. A lot of people I work with have sent the money and are waiting for the loan…a few of them have been waiting for two months . Is this a scam? Any answers will be helpfull! Thanx!
